The Tanis von der Mosel Race has gained a strong partner in Pantaenius: Europe’s leading yacht insurer is supporting the new 700-nautical-mile offshore regatta as a sponsor and is particularly involved in a key element of the race – comprehensive live tracking of the entire fleet.

The partnership makes it possible to follow the regatta around the clock, transparently and in real time. This makes the Tanis von der Mosel Race even more exciting not only for the participating crews, but also for families, friends, offshore fans, and the entire sailing community – from the start in Kiel to the return to the Kiel Fjord.

“An extraordinary regatta covering 700 nautical miles around Denmark needs solid supporters like Pantaenius,” says initiator Eckhard von der Mosel. “For us, this is also a sign of confidence: the Tanis von der Mosel Race is about solid seamanship, reliable safety standards, and professional organization – not risky extreme sailing.”

Von der Mosel emphasizes how well Pantaenius fits the profile of the new offshore format: “Pantaenius is a perfect fit for this challenging regatta. Good quality, high standards, and a wealth of experience are the special characteristics that connect us. This applies to Pantaenius, our participants, and our organization.”

Growing anticipation in the offshore scene: ten crews already registered

The response in the scene shows that the format has struck a chord. Ten crews have already registered, including several ambitious teams that have been closely following the new race since its launch. Among the entries is the X-Day, well known in the ORC scene and from numerous regattas organized by the Kiel Yacht Club, including MaiOR and Kiel Week.

Owner and skipper Lars Hückstädt describes the special challenge, because the X-Day is actually optimized for inshore racing: „After the Middle Sea Race 2024 and the Fastnet Race 2025, we are looking forward to a similar challenge on our own doorstep. These 700 NM races are a real challenge, as the X-Day is optimized for inshore racing. That’s why a high level of seamanship and team spirit is required of us. Above all, the demanding navigation between the Danish islands will be a highlight and guarantee the success of this new regatta from the Kiel Yacht Club.“

Start on June 13, 2026, in Kiel-Düsternbrook

The starting signal for the Tanis von der Mosel Race will be given on June 13, 2026, in Kiel-Düsternbrook. From there, the crews will embark on a challenging lap “once around Denmark” – including the navigation-intensive passages between the Danish islands – before the fleet returns to the Kiel Fjord.
